Cinnamon rolls

The Recipe:



2 3/4 cups flour ⁣

2 1/2 teaspoons yeast⁣

1/4 cup sugar⁣

1/2 teaspoon nutmeg ⁣

pinch or salt ⁣

4 tablespoons vegan butter⁣

1 cup of plant milk (at 37-40°C / 100°F) ⁣

1 “egg” (using egg replacer or a flax egg)⁣

1 teaspoon vanilla essence ⁣


1/2 a cup sugar⁣

1/4 cup vegan butter⁣

2-3 tablespoons cinnamon ⁣ ⁣

icing: ⁣

2 cups icing sugar ⁣

1/3 cup of plant milk ⁣

4 tablespoons vegan butter ⁣

1 teaspoon vanilla essence ⁣

Method: ⁣

1. Mix the milk, yeast and 1/4 teaspoon of sugar in a bowl and leave for 15 minutes

2. After the 15 minutes add the remaining sugar, butter, “egg” and vanilla to the bowl.⁣

3. In an electric mixing bowl with a dough blade add the flour, salt and nutmeg ⁣

4. Turn the mixer onto a low speed and slowly add the wet ingredient mixture⁣

5. Mix for 5 minutes ⁣until the dough combines

6. After 5 minutes cover the bowl and leave in a warm place for 1 hour to rise⁣

7. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) ⁣

8. After an hour take the dough out and roll it into a rectangle around 1cm thick

9. Combine all of the filling ingredients and spread it onto the rectangle⁣

10. Roll the rectangle from one long edge to the other and press to seal ⁣

11. Cut the roll into 4 cm slices and place into a greased baking dish ⁣

12. Bake for 35 minutes ⁣until golden brown

13. Mix all of the icing ingredients ⁣together

14. Once bakes remove the rolls from the oven and pour the mixture over them

15. Slice and enjoy ! ⁣
